  • Assist with site updates, SEO tagging, and analytics.
  • Brainstorm story ideas and help run our editorial meetings.

Perks & learning:

  • Regular feedback from our senior editors.
  • Professional-development sessions (e.g., CMS training, SEO best practices, multimedia storytelling).
  • Networking events with guest contributors and industry insiders.
  • Flexible hours—2–3 days/week, remotely or at our NYC office.
  • Certificate of internship and recommendation upon completion.

Time commitment & pay:

  • Part-time, minimum 10 hours/week.
  • Unpaid—but rich in experience and career-building resources.

How to apply:
Send your cover letter, resume, and a 500-word writing sample to internships@informed.org by September 1, 2025. In your cover letter, tell us:

  1. Which areas excite you most (e.g., opinion, features, web development).
  2. One story idea you’d love to explore for Informed.org.

2. Write For Us

We welcome contributors from across the political spectrum—Democrat, Republican, Independent, or otherwise. If you have insightful, well-argued ideas and strong writing chops, here’s how it works:

What we publish:

  • Opinion essays (800–1,200 words) on current affairs, policy, or culture.
  • Profiles (1,000–1,500 words) of thought leaders, changemakers, or unsung heroes.
  • Explainers (600–1,000 words) breaking down complex issues.

Why write for us?

  • Byline on a respected platform.
  • Editorial guidance from our team.
  • Promotion across our social channels and weekly newsletter.

Submission guidelines:

  • Original, unpublished material (no simultaneous submissions).
  • Clear structure (intro with a hook, 3–5 supporting points, strong conclusion).
  • Proper sourcing/linking for facts and data.

Next steps:
Email your resume and a link to a writing sample (or attach a PDF) to contribute@informed.org. We aim to respond within two weeks.
