In June 2024, President Donald Trump told a crowd of supporters at a Las Vegas rally that he was going to eliminate taxes on tips. The idea was so good that former Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s opponent at the time, made it part of her campaign promises. However, Nevada’s leftist Culinary Union predictably dismissed it as ‘wild campaign promises.” And as with everything Trump, he kept his word and delivered on that promise with the recently passed “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
As you probably know, the bill did not pass without the usual lies from Democrats and their media allies… as with everything Trump.
What is the One Big Beautiful Bill?
The One Big Beautiful Bill was born out of Trump’s determination to deliver on his America First promises and “Make America Great Again.” Aside from the tax cuts, the bill essentially secures the border by providing adequate funding for the CBP. It also unleashes American energy and provides billions of dollars for the U.S.’s decaying airport infrastructure.
Simply put, the bill embodies everything Trump promised during his 2024 campaign.
The Democrats came at the bill with everything they’ve got. They tried hard to tank the bill, so much so that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) filibustered during the bill’s debate and spoke for more than eight hours. It was only yesterday that he and his Democrats tried to get rid of the filibuster. Then, they argued it was racist, with Jeffries labelling it a “Jim Crow era relic standing in the way of progress”.
Jeffries and his friends may as well change their party’s name to the Hypocritical Party.

As soon as the bill went public, the Democrats and their media allies went on a campaign of doom-and-gloom predictions. They claimed the bill would essentially lead to deaths for Americans – the same apocalyptic rhetoric they’ve used for decades about Republican reforms. Their hyperbolic claims included:
“If it were ever implemented into law, hospitals will close, nursing homes and people will literally die,” Jeffries told CNN. offering no evidence beyond partisan projections.
Sen. Bernie Sanders called it a ‘death sentence for working-class and low-income Americans’ – ironic coming from someone whose socialist policies would actually destroy working-class jobs.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) claimed the bill would kick 16 million people off their healthcare and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) claimed 17 million people will lose their healthcare. Now, Sen. Warren, who faced controversy over false claims of Native American heritage, is no stranger to lies, and if she lied about her heritage, her lying about the bill shouldn’t be a surprise.
“‘Big Beautiful Bill’ is a death sentence for working-class and low-income Americans,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders, who, while an Independent, is essentially a Democrat.
Other lies by the Democrats regarding the bill include:
- It is just a handout to corporations, hurts small businesses, and leaves American workers behind
- It provides tax cuts to the rich at the expense of the poor
- It hurts low-income families and makes life more unaffordable
- It cuts Medicaid and kicks American families off the healthcare program.

While Democrats cite CBO projections claiming millions will ‘lose’ coverage, Republicans point out these projections assume people won’t complete basic paperwork to prove eligibility. Those who are truly eligible and make minimal effort to comply will maintain their coverage. The only people who will be removed from Medicaid are those who shouldn’t have been on it in the first place – able-bodied adults who refuse to work and illegal immigrants draining taxpayer resources.”

Following Jefferies’ self-proclaimed racist speech to kill the bill, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) delivered a brief rebuttal that echoed around Congress and drew cheers from House Republicans.
“It takes a lot longer to build a lie than to tell the simple truth,” Johnson said.

Contrary to the Democrats’ false claims, the bill provides largest tax cuts in history for middle- and working-class Americans. Workers and families making less than $50,000 per year stand to benefit most from the bill, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.
Asides from eliminating taxes on tips, the bill also cancels taxes on overtime and Social Security. Trump’s Tax Cuts of 2017, including the small business deductions, is now permanent, enabling Main Street to grow and hire. The bill also permanently increased the Child Tax Credit for more than 40 million American families.
The truth here is that the bill is essentially for the middle/working class in America.

The bill strengthens America’s security by funding the Golden Dome missile defense system and making sure the military has the resources to be a ready, lethal fighting force. The One Big Beautiful Bill unleashes American energy with massive expansion of domestic oil and gas production capacity. This will, in turn, drive down energy cost for Americans.
Under the new legislation, the border will be secured more than ever before, with millions allocated to finishing the border wall and hiring thousands of new ICE officers and Border Patrol agents.
